I am not much into chain restaurants but I have always heard great reviews on Trulucks. Plus they offer my favorite meal (STONE CRABS)…..
I will be scoring today on their appetizers and their dessert. The reason is that I of course ordered stone crabs and even though it is not hard to make I was not happy with them because they were stuck to the shell. I don’t want to blame Trulucks since it may be because of the cold weather so I will not grade them on that.
I will begin with Oyster Rockefeller. I have had delicious Oyster Rockefeller before so I am bias as to how well it taste. But I can tell you that I was not impressed. The oyster was so small it was non-existent. It was bland and not appealing to the eye.
I also had lobscargots. I thought it was lobster and escargots but it is only lobster prepared as escargots. I like lobster therefore I liked it but was not impressed. Also not appealing to the eye….
Finally the dessert. This was a bag made of chocolate filled with goodies such as strawberries, blue berries, whipped cream, etc….. It was very nicely presented and had many flavors all in one bag.
In conclusion, I was not impressed. I like their service. Our waitress was great and the dessert as you can see was very tasty. However, the rest of the meal was the same as I could have found anywhere else. I can tell you one thing this restaurant is $$$$$$$.
