SMITH & WOLLENSKY RESTAURANT-SOUTH BEACH

Square

This restaurant is one of my favorites. Not only does it have fine dining but also a breathtaking view. I always enjoy sitting outside since their tables are next to the ocean. From there you can see the boats leaving the port of Miami. On Saturdays and Sundays you can see the cruise ships leaving and listen to their honks as they embark on a new voyage. You can enjoy a nice breeze and a few rays of sun while enjoying a glass of wine or maybe just a soda!

I went yesterday for lunch just to disconnect from all the stressors of life. I waited about 45 minutes until I was able to sit outside under a nice shady tree. From my seat I was able to see Fisher Island which I noticed they are having some new construction.

Peeking into Fisher Island

We ordered Cajun ribeye steak and a seafood tower for 2.

Cajun Ribeye

Tower for 2

On the tower for two I told them to add two stone crab claws as it didn’t come with it.

Let me begin with the ribeye. First it looks very appetizing. It has nice color and size. We ordered it medium well. It was done accordingly but it lacked flavor. I did not find it to have the Cajun flavor but it was well cooked. Would I order it again, probably not. About the tower for 2. I had ordered two stone crab claws but as you see in the picture only one came. The waiter brought me another one as he was told about the mistake. As you look at the picture visually is not appealing. It looks as if they threw everything there. The taste was good. There is not much to it.

I said at the beginning that this restaurant is one of my favorites. Today the meal was not up to par but the view was all worth it. I am not giving up on this restaurant. Perhaps it was just a bad day. If you are in town, try it and let me know.

But today I will give it……….
